Frequently asked questions
About the Cacheuta Hot Springs Full Day Spa
How far are the Termas de Cacheuta from Mendoza?+
The Termas de Cacheuta are 38 km west of the city of Mendoza, on Route 7 toward Potrerillos. The drive takes about 45 minutes each way. It's a very scenic route, following the Mendoza River through the valley canyon.
What temperature is the thermal water?+
The spa has more than ten stone pools at different temperatures, from 18°C in the cold pool up to 42°C in the hottest ones. Moving from one to another (the hot-cold contrast) is part of the experience. The water rises naturally from the area's thermal springs and has mineral properties.
What properties does the Cacheuta thermal water have?+
Cacheuta's waters are rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and silicates. They are traditionally credited with relaxing muscles, improving circulation, easing joint and rheumatic pain, and a general de-stressing effect. They're no substitute for medical treatment, but they are relaxing and revitalizing.
Is lunch included in the Hot Springs Tour?+
Yes, it includes a traditional Argentine buffet lunch with a variety of meats, pasta, salads, desserts and soft drinks. The buffet is included in the entry to the complex. Alcoholic drinks (wine, beer) and premium treatments are paid separately.
Are there spa treatments besides the pools?+
Yes, the complex offers massages, facials, exfoliations, wraps and other treatments at its premium spa. They aren't included in the tour, but you can book them directly on site when you arrive. We recommend booking ahead on weekends, especially in high season.
Is the Hot Springs Tour suitable for children?+
The hotel spa is for ages 14 and up. From that age everyone is admitted, and everyone pays the same rate: there is no child price. If you're traveling with younger children, the option is the Hot Springs + Rafting Combo, which goes to the Parque de Agua Termal (thermal water park), open to all ages — there, rafting has a minimum age of 12.
How is this different from the Hot Springs Combo?+
The Cacheuta Full Day Spa (this tour) is only hot springs, a full day of relaxation. The Hot Springs Combo mixes the hot springs with another activity (rafting or canopy on the Mendoza River), so it's more active. If you only want rest, choose this one. If you want to combine adventure and relaxation in one day, choose the Hot Springs Combo.
Can I go if I'm pregnant?+
High-temperature water (above 38°C) is not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. If you're pregnant and still want to go, you can use only the warm pools and enjoy the setting. We recommend checking with your obstetrician beforehand.
What happens if it rains on the day of the tour?+
The hot springs have covered and open-air pools, a sauna and a steam grotto, so the tour runs even if it rains. In fact, many people prefer visiting the hot springs on gray days for the atmosphere. Only a serious weather alert (a strong thunderstorm) could lead to rescheduling.
How long is the Cacheuta Hot Springs Tour?+
The full tour lasts 10 hours. We leave Mendoza at 9:00 am, reach the hot springs at 10:00 am, you have the whole day to relax with lunch included at midday, and we get back around 7:00 pm. If you'd like a longer or personalized day, we can arrange it.
