It's half past two in the afternoon and Mendoza is just starting to cool down. Within five hours you'll be standing between the vine rows of a Maipú winery, a glass of Malbec in hand, with the sun setting behind the Andes. This is the winery tour you actually have time for.
Two hand-picked wineries (one traditional, one boutique), six wines, a cheese and charcuterie board, and back at your hotel before dinner. No endless lunches or long drives: the essence of Mendoza wine in one afternoon.

The route, step by step
Departure · 2:30 pm
We pick you up
We leave from your hotel in Mendoza city, in a group vehicle with a bilingual guide. Heading to Maipú, 20 km east: the province's most historic wine region.
Stop 1
The traditional winery
A walk through the vineyards and the barrel room, where the guide explains how wine is made, starting from the grape. Tasting of three labels: a Malbec, a blend and a white. Then there's some free time to stroll between the vine rows and take photos: we don't rush from one winery to the next.
Stop 2
The boutique winery
Small-batch production, just a few bottles a year. Three premium wines paired with a board of cheeses, cured meats, nuts and olives. It's not a formal lunch, but you'll leave satisfied.
Return · 7:30 pm
Back, with the evening free
We drop you off at your hotel with plenty of time for dinner in the city. If you bought bottles, we'll advise you on certified packaging for your flight.

Frequently asked questions
About the Mendoza Winery Tour
How is it different from the full-day Maipú Wine Tour?+
The Mendoza Winery Tour is a half day (5 hours), visits 2 wineries and doesn't include a formal lunch (just a tasting board). The full-day Maipú Wine Tour lasts 8 and a half hours, visits 3 wineries + 1 olive oil producer, and includes a 3-course lunch with wine pairing. This one is ideal if you're short on time; the other if you want the complete experience.
How many wines will I taste?+
You taste 6 wines in total: 3 at the first winery and 3 at the second. The pours are measured tasting pours, not full glasses. The selection includes Malbec, blends and a white wine, so you can taste the range of what Mendoza produces.
Are there vegetarian options on the cheese board?+
Yes, the board includes several kinds of cheese, nuts, breads and olives. If you have a specific dietary restriction (gluten intolerance, dairy, vegan), let us know when you book and we'll arrange suitable options with the wineries.
Is it good for a first experience with wine?+
Yes, it's ideal for getting started. The short duration doesn't overwhelm, the guide explains the basics (how wine is made, which grapes are used, how to taste), and the two wineries chosen are very educational. If you get hooked, you can come back for a more in-depth full-day tour.
Can I combine it with another tour on the same day?+
Yes, absolutely. Since it runs in the afternoon (2:30 pm to 7:30 pm), you can pair it with a morning tour such as Villavicencio or a Mendoza city tour. Ask us about combined packages to make the most of your day.
Is there time to shop at the wineries?+
Yes, at each winery you have time to visit the shop and buy the bottles you tasted. Prices are usually better than at wine shops in the city. If you're flying, we'll advise you on special packs with certified flight packaging.
Is it suitable for people who don't drink alcohol?+
Yes, you'll still enjoy the tour, the vineyards, the history of the wineries and the cheese board. Tastings are optional. The wineries usually offer grape juice, flavored water or soft drinks instead. Let us know when you book.
When is the best time of year for a winery tour?+
It works all year. The grape harvest, or vendimia (February–March), is the liveliest season, with picking in full swing. Autumn (April–May) brings vineyards in spectacular colors. Winter (June–August) shows the pruned vineyards. Spring (September–November) has ideal weather and vines coming back to life.
What time does the Winery Tour end?+
We leave at 2:30 pm and return around 7:30 pm. We drop you off at your hotel, so you have the evening free to have dinner in the city or keep enjoying Mendoza.
Where are the wineries we visit?+
All in Maipú, 20 km east of Mendoza city. Maipú is the most historic wine region and the closest to the city. The drive between wineries is short, so you make the most of your time at each one.
