Frequently asked questions

About the Full Day Adventure

Do I need previous adventure experience?+

No. All the activities are suitable for beginners, but they do require good general fitness. The instructors teach each technique from scratch; no prior knowledge is assumed. What you do need is to be physically up for it: the day is demanding and combines several strenuous activities.

Which is the most demanding activity?+

Rappelling is the most physically demanding, because it takes arm and leg strength to control the descent. Canopy is the least demanding, almost entirely passive. Rafting is a cardio workout. Taken together, it's a demanding day for people who don't usually exercise.

Is the Full Day Adventure safe?+

Yes, completely. The operators are licensed by the municipality and the province of Mendoza, carry current insurance, and the instructors are certified. The gear (helmets, harnesses, ropes, life jackets) meets international standards. Serious accidents in these activities in Mendoza are extremely rare.

Can I do just 2 activities instead of 3?+

The tour price includes all 3 activities. If on the day you decide to skip one, the proportional part is not refunded. You can, however, sit it out and rest in the common area. If you only want to do 1 or 2 specific activities, get in touch and we'll put together a custom tour for you.

Is it suitable for children?+

We recommend it from age 14, given the combined physical demands of the 3 activities and the age limits on some of them (canopy and rappelling usually have a minimum age of 12-14). If your 14-17-year-old is sporty and loves adventure, they'll have a great time.

In what order are the activities done?+

The standard order is: rafting (morning, when the river flow is steady), canopy (around midday, before or after lunch), rappelling (afternoon). It may change depending on river conditions, weather or operator availability. Your guide will walk you through the schedule when you arrive.

When is the best time of year for the Full Day Adventure?+

Between October and April, when the Mendoza River runs high (snowmelt) and the weather is mild. In summer (December-March) the water is warmer and the days are long. In winter (May-September) rafting is usually reduced or suspended because of low flow and very cold water. Autumn has the best landscape colors.

What if I'm afraid of heights?+

Canopy and rappelling involve heights. If you have a severe fear of heights, we recommend doing just the rafting or the Hot Springs + Rafting Combo. If your fear is moderate, the instructors are very good at supporting you, and most people get over it and end up enjoying it. It's your call.

Are there any medical restrictions?+

It is not suitable for people with: heart conditions, severe high blood pressure, significant neck or lower-back problems, epilepsy, or pregnancy. If you have a medical condition and want to go, check with us first and, if needed, with your doctor. Health and safety come first.

How long is the Full Day Adventure?+

The full tour lasts 10 hours. We leave Mendoza at 8:30 am, reach the camp at 9:45 am, do the 3 activities with breaks and lunch in between, and get back to Mendoza around 6:30 pm. It's a long, demanding day; we recommend resting the day after.
